Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) is calling for expressions of interest from people wanting to serve in governance and directorship roles on any of its Boards across its Group.

This includes its State Owned Enterprises and Crown Corporate Entities – Cook Islands Investment Corporation, Cook Islands Airport Authority, Avaroa Cable, Bank of the Cook Islands, Cobalt Seabed Resources, Ports Authority, Te Aponga Uira, Te Mana Uira o Araura and To Tatou Vai.

Those wanting to contribute to the CIIC vision of “te au apinga puapinga te ka tauturu i te iti-tangata Kuki Airani” or “quality assets that serve the Cook Islands people,” and believe they have the right skill set and experience to contribute around the board table, are being encouraged to express their interest.

Fletcher Melvin, CIIC Chairman, is inviting people to attend an in person and online Zoom information session on Wednesday 12 July at 5pm at the CIIC offices, where they can learn more about the Cook Island Investment Corporation Group and what the Director roles entail.

Mr Melvin is pleased to re-announce the formal expression of interest programme to expand the pool of directors when the CIIC Board considers future Board appointments.

“We have a very good pool of Directors at present across our Group, managing a significant asset base for the Cook Islands people,” he says.

“The purpose of this process is to again reach out to the public and encourage people who are interested in governance roles to formally submit their interest, so that when governance and directorship opportunities arise, they may be considered for those appointments.”

Cook Islands Investment Corporation has invested significantly into best practice corporate governance practices over the last few years, Mr Melvin says.

To attend the online information session, please contact Kiana Sword-Tua on +682 29 391 or email kiana.tua@cookislands.gov.ck

To formally express your interest in governance roles there is an online form people are invited to complete via its website at www.ciic.gov.ck/crown-enterprise/expression-of-interest-director/
